The University invites applications for admission to various courses from eligible candidates through advertisement sometime in month of January. The University holds Common Entrance Test for various courses in accordance with the schedule announced by the University. The results of Common Entrance Tests are displayed on the University Website www.ipu.ac.in. The University declares the ranks for qualified candidates only. Admissions to various courses are made by the University through two centralized counsellings held in the GGSIP University Campus as per schedule and the procedure prescribed.

Scheme of Examination

  1. The Two year B.Ed. Programme is of 92 credits and the student will have to earn 88 credits.
  2. In a Four credit course, three credits are assigned for theory and one credit for practical assignments or field work
  3. In a two Credit course , one credit is assigned for theory and one credit for practical assignments or field work.
  4. In a theory course , one credit is equivalent to one hour of teaching
  5. In the practical course, one credit is equivalent to two hours of engagement in teaching and learning.
  6. For theory courses, breakup of marks is given under; (i) 100 marks- 75 Theory Exam 15 Practical Assignments / Field Engagement10 Minor.
  7. For a Practical course, the ratio of External and Internal marks is 60:40.
  8. For passing in any course, minimum 50% marks are required to be secured.
  9. The timetable for the B.Ed. Programme should be prepared in a manner to ensure that it. Contains at least Thirty Six working hours per week.
