Diwali—the “festival of lights” is the biggest festival in India. Commemorating the victory of good over evil, it is also an opportunity for people to move on, let go of past grudges, and make merry. The same was celebrated by the Kamal Institute of Higher Education and Advance Technology on 25th October 2019 (Friday) with great pomp and show. The institute organized various events and competitions to celebrate the occasion such as:
• Cooking without flame competition
• Rangoli competition
• Poster Making competition
• Diya Decoration competition
• Ethnic Wear competition
1. Diya Decoration – It is an art of decorating Diya with paint and decorative items. The students of BBA, BCA, B.COM and BA(JMC) participated in it. The event started at 10:00 AM. The students decorated very beautiful Diyas. The winners of the competition were:
1st Position - Mohsin and Anita
2nd Position - Leena Aggarwal and Mehvish , &
Shivani Sharma and Sujata
3rd Position – Shivani and Pawan
2. Cooking without Flame – It is an art, technology and craft of preparing food without fire. The students of BBA, BCA, B.COM and BA(JMC) participated in it. The event started at 10:30 AM. The students made very delicious and mouth watering dishes. The winners of the competition were:
1st Position- Manish and Vivek
2nd Position- Saumya and Anamika
3rd Position – Leena Aggarwal and Ritika Raj, &
Pawan and Sonu
3. Ethnic Wear – Ethnic wear is a competition in which everyone is dressed traditionally head to toe and walk on the ramp. The event started at 11:00 AM. The students from various courses participated in ramp walk which mesmerized the audience. The winners of the competition were:
1st Position- Harshita and Rohit
2nd Position- Niti Khanna and Abhishek Gupta
3rd Position – Nancy and Nikhil
4. Poster Making Competition – A Poster is a temporary promotion of an idea, product or event put up in a public space for mass appeal. The event started at 10:00 AM. The topic for poster making was “Say No to Crackers” and the students made beautiful posters. The winners of the competition were:
1st Position- Mohsin and Kashish
2nd Position- Leena Aggarwal
3rd Position – Sujata
5. Rangoli Competition –Rangoli is an art form which originated in Indian sub-continentin which patterns are created on the floor or the ground using colors, sand, colored rice, flower petals etc. The event started at 12:00 PM. The students from various courses participated to showcase their art. The winners of the competition were:
1st Position- Sonam and Shruti, &
Vanshika Ragsania
2nd Position- Ankit and Shrishti, &
Rupali, Rajpal, Mayank, Shubham, Dimpy and Deepak
3rd Position – Leena Aggarwal, Siddharth, Anshupriya and Ritika Raj
All the winners were awarded with certificates and medals. Novels were given to first position holders. To encourage and motivate the students, certificates were awarded to all the participants also.
At 2:00 PM, all the students and faculties gathered for pooja. The students made a beautiful Mandir and decorated the idol of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi with flowers and colors. Everyone joined for aarti and bhajans. The Prasad was distributed to each and everyone. All the students, teachers and other staff members enjoyed a lot and it was a memorable day for everyone.
